I used to handle stress pretty well before sz. Now I get stressed just from selling items online or anything even easy. I remember this started a few years before my diagnosis during studying and exams in college and then university. Does schizophrenia reduces our ability to fight stress?
Its also one of the reasons I quit about 10 jobs after a few weeks max.
Yes it completely does. Like when I’m waiting for my weekly grocery delivery it causes me stress.
My ability to handle stress got better when I quit caffeine though.
I easily get stressed out.
I think it’s the illness but also could be the meds and lack of dopamine.
I think it just makes you more aware of it. Its up to you to manage it accordingly
when I went to confession of my sins, wrongs, 6 months later I felt forgiven and at peace
For me pretty sure its the illness as it started a few years before getting on any antipsychotic.
I get all sweaty and break out in hives when I have to phone for a pizza!
I get stressed out really easily.
I get stressed when I’m being paranoid. I’ve been worried the landlord is trying to evict me, but I got a notice this morning that my lease would be renewed. My current lease runs out November 30th.
I think that stress is bad for sz people. It may trigger many symptoms such as paranoia.
I keep making scenarios in my head like visualising what will happen when the buyer will be here and how he will leave etc I keep repeating this in my mind while pacing fast in the house etc Its like ocd and anxiety too idk.
I know that when I’m stressed my schizophrenia gets worse. I hate being stressed because my anxiety gets pretty bad.
I get anxiety and get stressed out when I have to go somewhere or be around a group of people! I think so and the meds cause us to have a certain amount of fear towards things that we didn’t once have, it stresses me out
I get stressed when going with shopping with my mum
I don’t handle stress well at all anymore. I can’t work because of it
Stress makes my symptoms worse. I’ve needed to learn techniques from therapy to avoid stress when possible and manage it when not possible. I work in a fairly stressful job with a high cognitive load and I manage, but there are days when I pay for it in terms of increased positive symptoms.
