Strengths of L-Theanine

@everhopeful was saying that he was taking 800mg a day and that the pills he was using were 400mg. I am getting plenty of effect from 200 mg a day (100mg at night and 100mg when anxious or agitated).

Mine are only 100mg caps from Puritan’s Pride. Is it possible that mine are that much stronger? Or is it possible to build up that great a tolerance by continuing to take it? I’ve just been taking it regularly for a week.

Do you think it’s addictive in the sense of increasing need for more and of withdrawal difficulties?

I’ve definitely noticed different strengths amongst different brands. They’re definetely not all the same. But I have abilify induced anxiety which is pretty severe for me so I need to take 800mg/day.

The brand I’m currently using is the strongest I’ve found so far.

You’re so lucky that 100mg works for you and that you’ve found a good brand.

It pays to experiment with different brands from my experience.

withdrawal difficulties?

Yes at a dose of 800mg, there is withdrawal issues. I nearly went bananas when I tried to quit it cold turkey. I had no problem tapering off it though.

However, my life was miserable without it, so I just went back on it.

What is L Theanine used for?

It’s an over the counter supplement. It’s used for anxiety.

I LOVE L-THEANINE!

I also love Abilify. It’s a love hate relationship!

I can really chill out with Abilify.

These are the best, especially after a workout. They are called Metagenics Ultra Calm Chocolate Coconut bars with 200mg of L-Theanine per bar. You can get them by the box on Amazon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRygKaJYl5g
