Stray Kitten at

There is a beautiful stray Kitten abandoned outside my porch. It’s crying. :sob: My husband says we can’t take it in as we already have our pets. He said if it’s out there in the morning he’ll bring it in with some tuna and let me care for it until we can take it to a shelter. I’m crying because I want to keep it. :sob::sob:

I’ve heard that you shouldn’t feed a cat tuna. When I was growing up in the sixties and seventies the prevailing opinion was to feed a cat tuna and give them milk. Now I hear that you shouldn’t give a cat either. It might be OK in moderation; I’m not sure.

EDIT. I read a couple of articles. They say tuna is OK, but not as a steady diet. They say most cats are lactose intolerant and milk can cause diarrhea.

Take it to a shelter.

Just let it hang around your house and feed it. It’s probably just really hungry.

What about as an outdoor cat?

I think you should probably get it immediately and feed it soft cat food. I do agree with your husband though. You need to give this animal up to a shelter. You two need to meet each other half way and I think its a little too much to ask for another pet. Doing due diligence on medical costs for pets is expensive.

Thanks everyone. We gave it some wet cat food and ended up taking her to a shelter. The good this is they had plenty of room, so she will have a chance to be adopted. We called PetSmart and they said if we paid for her shots and her spay, she can be put up for adoption there.

Thank you for helping the kitten. It was lucky to have found your house.

We think it was going house to house, because my neighbor said they heard something on their porch, but it stopped after they got up to check.
