Stopping sugar addiction

I have sugar addiction and it’s hard to break to say the least, any words of wisdom?

Drink lots of water, preferably alkaline 9.5 pH, it really kills the sweets addiction. 9.5 pH water is great, only makes you pee every 2-3 hours rather than in 10-30 mins, since it is so much more hydrating.

Also, eat fruit for your sugar fix.

Bonus relief if you can cut out soda and coffee from your diet.

@naturallycured I drink lots of great value purified water no soda but coffee with sugar and creamer Tuesday and Thursday so I guess I can cut that out and add in dried or canned fruit. Do you think hard candy would help?

Can you do fresh fruit? If not, then dried is ok too. Not canned, it has added sugar.

@naturallycured fresh is so expensive and have limited funds.

Okay, dried doesn’t seem that bad, but be careful not to overdo it since it has less volume than fresh.

@naturallycured what about hard candy?

It’s nutritionally void, and bad for the teeth. Wouldn’t recommend.

@naturallycured okay thank you for the advice

@Twialine, my pleasure.

I was having the same problem. Being in an environment that has a lot of junk food wasn’t helping either but I basically started drinking more water. Every time I get the urge to eat sugar I drink water. So far it’s been 2 weeks since I had any junk food and I’m happy with the progress I’ve made. It wasn’t easy but eventually the urge is going away. Now I eat a banana here and there and some chocolate but other than that no junk for me.

Don’t walk to the local Fas Gas C-store for a cherry Slush Puppy like I just did. This beotch definitely isn’t sugar free.

I’ve lost 10lbs in the last month and all I’ve changed is my sugar intake. It gets easier over time.

I had a gnarly sugar addiction. I had a sweet tooth before antipsychotics, but AP’s made my sugar addiction really bad. I was eating desserts all day. I tried doing a lot of stuff to quit sugar – quit it completely, eat it once in a while, eat fruit instead. Nothing worked.

What worked for me was getting on keto. That removed my sugar addiction in 2 weeks. It’s pretty ridiculous now. I’ll make desserts for friends and not be tempted to eat it. I’ll have a lick to make sure the dessert came out good, but that’s it.
