Stopping my meds

They say that it’s anxiety and not psychosis, so i’m going to stop my seroquel.
They think the voices are just anxiety, they think that my awareness of it is just me googling things, so i’m going to go off my meds.
Wish me luck.

Unless directed by a doctor. Not a good idea. :rabbit::rabbit::rabbit:

More often than not going off one’s meds is a bad idea. Please talk to your pdoc about this.

Who they? Your psychiatrist??

Do the voices take on their own characteristics? Do they say things unpredictably? If yes, that’s psychosis.

From your profile you were very recently diagnosed so I think that’s why you’re lacking insight into your psychosis. Psychosis can’t really be faked.

I don’t think anxiety causes voices. Voices are more from psychosis. How can a pdoc not know that??

My psychiatrist says that i don’t have psychosis, well the psychologist.
My psychiatrist didn’t know so she got her.
She labled it as just anxiety, so i told her i want off my seroquel if i don’t need it.
I’m going to taper down myself after they give me shantix.
The truth will reveal itself.

Its fine as long as its your psychiatrist’s orders. Psychologists don’t have the right to alter your meds or diagnosis. Only psychiatrists can.

If the psychiatrist says it’s ok. Then go slowly you don’t want to get withdrawal or rebound effects

The psychiatrist and my nurse was there, it was a video call.

I hope it works out.

Then your psychiatrist should taper your meds, not you. Otherwise you will get withdrawals and possibly rebound psychosis even if you never had one. I convinced my psychiatrist to stop my meds and he did. He believed me. It was a disaster and I regretted it, ended up nearly dying and in mental hospital after a year. Anyways hopefully it works for you.
