Anyone tried them? Like ADHD meds, Ritalin, Adderal, Straterra, Modafinil, etc

Straterra benefits were minimal. I tried adderall once at the height of my worst psychosis.back in 2015…for some reason i keep.thinking adderall is like limitless and will turn me into a super genius. Its a huge delusion…of mine!

Yes it did. It lasted years.

Low dose 1 pill. Dont really remember taking it.

Yes, it has helped with those. It does not completely erase them. I’d be useless without it.

I tend to think of Adderall this way too. As in, I’ll even watch that movie and imagine myself this way. I also had a serious Adderall abuse problem for awhile. So, now my meds are very tightly controlled. I have to rely on someone else to give me each dose.

I’ve used and abused stimulants a lot. They treated apathy but I also abused them to eliminate the need for sleep. The only problem I experienced was occasional OCD symptoms. I used ethylphenidate, a close chemical relative of methylphenidate (Ritalin).

i was on ritalin for some time… it helped but eventually i got psychotic again…

I use modafinil regularly. Haven’t had any problems.

I prefer levodopa (L-Dopa)+carbidopa as it doesn’t affect norepinephrine and no addiction risk.
I am getting benefits from the L-Dopa supplement but it doesn’t last more than a few hours. It raises dopamine. Thing is that L-Dopa is metabolized faster without carbidopa. Thats why Drs prescribe carbidopa with it. I need to ask my Dr if he can prescribe l-dopa+carbidopa, I hope he will prescribe it and not say it can cause psychosis. It can only causes psychosis in high doses I think.
Also read that this has fewer side effects than dopamine agonists like Ritalin etc
Levodopa + carbidopa can cause your muscles to relax (at least from my experience). If you don’t have a neurodegenerative or Parkinsonic illness, it might not be very good for you.

ADHD meds and uppers can cause psychosis in “normal” people.
It’s likely to trigger mania and/or psychosis in SZ/SZA patients.

You are already experimenting with caffeine pills.

Some here are on ADHD meds and antipsychotics so it can sometimes not cause psychosis. I want to try them, I hope my Dr will accept.

Well you don’t suffer from mood symptoms do you?
ADHD meds can especially trigger manic episodes with bipolar symptoms like found in SZA.
You might be able to take them under a doctors supervision if you suffer with schizophrenia with no mood symptoms. @Aziz
