Stelazine anyone?

I had success with Stelazine. My pdoc told me it is very similar to Loxapine. My current pdoc doesn’t want me on it because it causes TD. I have my doubts it is any more dangerous than a new generation drug.

Tried it…meh!

The best first gen AP I tried was Perphenazine.

I never tried stelazine but haloperidol is a good med for me. I’m on 4mg

I tried all three: stelazine, haldol and perphenazine. For me, all are completely worthless, with terrible side effects.

low dose(<7.5mg) stelazine was ok. medium-high(>7.5mg) dose was meh.

I was forced to take Stelazine in 1963. It caused restless leg syndrome. The pills were blue. Something to do with stars? Stela by starlight?

yeah he is right
patient will higher chance to get TD when he is on stelazine
but in the other hand it is more potent than the new generations of AP
so it is the choice of the therapist

I’ve sern a study on the web that told that the new Gen meds risperdone, Zyprexa, Geodon and Abilify where just as likely to cause TD as the first generation drugs like Haldol and pherpenazinel.

I had suspected that my pdoc might be mistaken. I don’t think the new trend in science deniers to be 100% a bad thing.

I knew a guy who could take any amount of Stellazine, and it did nothing to him. Just a little bit of that stuff knocks me dead.
