I am very happy with haldol! But I take only 2,5 mg besides 15 mg Olanzapin. Haldol is very good for anxiety and restlessness.

If it wasn’t for Clopixol I would use Haldol as my main antipsychotics. If you just prescribe an antipsychotic at a heigh enough dose then all antipsychotics are torture. And then it doesn’t matter weather that is 1. 2. Or 3. Gen antiisychotics.
Does Haldol cause TD or a high chance of getting it?

I take 15 mg per day of Haldol. It’s weight neutral which I like.
I’ve been on 40 mg Haldol daily before. That was pure hell.

I believe 40mg of Haldol was awful @crimby ! What are you on now?
Not for me, it gave me the worst case of restless leg syndrome and it made me dizzy, everytime I stood still I felt like I was going to fall over. I quit it shortly after starting it.
Haldol also has a higher incidence of TD than I’m comfortable risking by taking it.

Yes it can cause TD (I think most if not all antipsychotics can) but there is a higher risk you will get TD than some other antipsychotics.
I quit haldol because of the restless leg syndrome, the dizziness and the fact that it has a higher risk of TD. I wasn’t on haldol very long then went to lurasidone (latuda) which has a much lower risk of TD…

If they want to put me on that stuff again they are going to have to catch me first. Even the small doses are numbing to my mind.
It is known for that. It doesn’t do that to everyone who takes it, but a lot of people say it does that to them.
Im on 35 mg of haldol, i feel fine just always thinking about slmething. Sometines my hands shake my eye pressed against my skin, itsbweird.
I’m on 500 mg Clopixol ever 3 weeks.This antipsychotic cause the same set of side effects as Haldol. The dose I take is equal to 35 mg Haldol by mouth and I just feel that it’s working without any severe side effect.

i was on haldol for 3 weeks they overdosed me and sedated me so much i couldn’t communicate and severe td they called it the haldol shuffle put me in the hospital for a few weeks do to withdrawal
I’ve been stable on Haldol for over 10 years. My dose started at 1mg and has occasionally gone up to 1.5mg per day but now I’m stable on .5mg. I also sometimes take .75mg. I regulate my own dose based on how I feel. I don’t have side effects but I did notice recently, after stopping my medication for 9 days, that some of my cognitive function came back. I felt really alive for a short while, then I started to feel bad.
Haldol at a small dose is “Vitamin H”
at a large dose it is “Helldol”
