Was on olanzapine and startign risperdal tonight and had a few questions.
Will I get sleepy and gain weight like olanzapine?
Does it keep me tired during the day and how do you deal with that?
Does it help with limiting the voices and thoughts i hear?
4mg Risperdal is my minimum dose to stop positive symptoms. I have no positive symptoms.
I think that risperidone is a better drug than zyprexa, it didn’t make me as tired. I was on the shot. I had to get off it because it made my bladder stop working.
I read that 2mg is the minimum dose.
Risperidone should be less sedative and make you less hungry than olanzapine.
I wasn’t fully stable on 3mg, I need 4mg to be stable.
Yeah I pee a lot since starting Risberidole 5 days ago.
I was doing 4mg of Risperdal for 4or5 years then started hearing a voice. My pdoc had to up me to 5mg.
I might have had that problem too. I used to have frequent urination but it went away when I switched to Abilify and Simvastatin.
Yes but for some people 2mg is enough.
I take 4mg.
It made me gain about 30 pounds when I first started to take it.
It made me sleepy for about a week but it no longer makes me really sleepy anymore.
The voices so far have been staying gone
I have been on it for a little over a year.
I’m only on 2mg and it makes me a bit tired, don’t really know if it’s helping with my voices or anything. Maybe a little bit. My prescriber probably is going to take me off of it though because it can lower your blood pressure, and for me my blood pressure is already low as it is. I’ve actually lost weight but was told there isn’t much weight gain with this med.
My goal is to go down to 2mg.
I was at 2mg of Risperdal years ago.
I’m at 3mg now.
Hopefully I can lose weight.
