I am curious to know if anybody has had a successful pregnancy while staying on antipsychotics? and if so, which kind were you on? I have read there can be birth defects and other issues. But I am scared to go off my meds in fear of going into another psychosis. No I don’t want to hear how I shouldn’t bring a child into this world and blah blah blah 
I am going to ask my provider about it this Thursday and see what she says but I just wanted to get advice from someone who has been through it before.

Your psychiatrist and family dr know more than us but I think here there is a user who was pregnant and breast fed while on an AP. Most APs cause birth defects but not all.

Yeah, I don’t really have the best prescriber/therapist or family doctor right now. (hoping that will change before I try to have a family) I was just hoping to get advice or hear someone else’s story on it.

Yeah, you can definitely do it. But make sure you talk to your psych, primary, and OB before you try to conceive. Make sure everything is in place and they’re all on the same page before you start trying. Good luck.

Yes I will def have a talk with everyone before I try. Like I mentioned above I probably want to get better ones before I even try (so it’ll probably be awhile) but I will run it by my current ones.
