Can you breastfeed while on antipsychotics? Thinking of getting pregnant.

Not on most of them.

I believe @LED breastfed while on haldol,

But I’m not sure.

We’ll tag her and ask.

Olanzapine and quetiapine were categorized as acceptable for breastfeeding . Chlorpromazine, haloperidol, risperidone and zuclopenthixol were categorized as possible for breastfeeding under medical supervision.

I was on haldol during my pregnancy and breastfed for 2 years while on it with zero problems.

Google says it’s not safe during pregnancy or for breastfeeding.

But I didn’t really read the article, just skimmed through it.

You should ask your pdoc and OB about it before you get pregnant.

This is from an app called MommyMeds. I used it for all my pregnancy and breastfeeding meds.

I did with my last for as long as possible. The NICU doctors gave permission. I was on seroquel, lamictal and haldol at the time.
