Im really hoping to stick to it. Kinda forcing myself to run each day even though i feel like im going to die and my face turns red after like one minute.
At the moment with my fitness level i can only manage about 20 minutes of light jogging without stopping. So hard!
Any tips on cardio and weight loss my fellow sz brethren?
No tips but many congratulations! That’s a huge positive change to your routine. Do you run indoors or outdoors?
@bittercat thanks!
I run outside on the sidewalks where i live.
Today while running, i stopped for a moment to change songs on my phone and another older guy running past me called out saging “keep it up big fella! Your doing good.”
Which really boosted my self asteem about it. And made me hate the human race slightly less haha.
Your cardiovascular system will thank you!
When I started jogging, I could only jog for one minute. So I fell into a routine of jogging one minute and fast walking for two. Then jogging for one again and so on. It really worked!
@LilyoftheValley wow thats awesome you had the patience to start so small and improve like that! That inspires me.
Thanks! It’s ok to start wherever you’re at. It’s about getting healthier and stronger. It’s not a competition with others
@LilyoftheValley yeah true that! But i sonetimes have the bad habit of desiring quick results which im trying to get over. Slow and steady. Slow and steady.
Yes. Slow and steady is the best way
Do stretches, warm up and cool down.
If your starting again. Then dont do to much cardio because your body needs nutrients. When you burn calories in a single day youll be tired the next day and wont exercises the next day. Youll have to exercise with weights. You can try light weights with many reps.
If you dont like wieght lifting its ok but You need to perform weight lifting to balance the biology in your body so you can run faster and have balance.
You can Try weight lifting first for 40 minutes then do other exercises.
@Noop_12 true. I do have some dumbbells. It just feels that running is thr best option for me for losing weight. But im no expert. I might incorporate some weights into my routine aswell. Thanks.
20 minutes is a pretty good start. Do you have a fitness tracker? I’ve found they are good for keeping an eye on your heartrate and thus showing you how your working out. Mine is a bit expensive but it breaks down your heatbeat into zones so it shows you how much your body was in the cardio zone for example. I would think they are an excellent tool if you can afford one and looking to do more exercise.
Running is fun
You can also try steady light warm ups
For example
5 minute warm ups
45 second rest
5 minute warm up
45 second rest
Up to 30 minutes
@rogueone good idea. But for now i think im so unfit currently that any slight bit of brisk jogging is definitely pushing me into a state of high heart rate and all that. Like i want to quit desperately after ten minutes. I can hardly breathe and my throat gets all clogged up with thick saliva. So what im currently doing is probably too much. But still i cant bring myself to start smaller. Im dumb like that haha. I want to lose some god dang weight.
That’s awesome dude! Outside is always nice as you get to look at the scenery.
