Saw a nurse this morning, she talked to my dr, and my dr is putting me on Haldol. I’m taking 1 mg twice a day. Hope it helps, I’m sure it will, pretty strong drug.

I took my first dose this afternoon and it knocked me on my ass. I was down for a 3 1/2 hour nap, damn. I didn’t sleep enough last night, that may have been part of it. I hadn’t taken that stuff in years, will take some getting used to.
I take all of mine at night and sleep it off
How much do you take? My dr wrote for me to take 1/2 to 1 tablet (1 mg) two times a day. I’ll take a full tablet tonight, then probably do that again in the morning. If I can’t handle a full mg in the morning I could always drop my morning dose to 1/2 tablet.
It’s a strong med. I’m on 30mgs a day. It helps.
That’s wayyy too much Haldol. Are you sure you’re not thinking of a different drug?

They had me on 40 mg a day. That was way too much. Then they put me on the Haldol decoate shot, because they knew that as soon as they turned their backs I would quit taking it. They started me out on a 150 mg a month shot. That comes out to just under 5 mg a day. That was much more tolerable. Then they worked it down to 100 mg, then to 70 mg. The 70 mg shot was too little. I never liked Haldol in any amount. It was a huge relief when they put me on Geodon and Seroquel. But remember, how people react to the med’s varies a lot. One med that is fine for one person may be pure hell for another, and vice versa.

I take 4 milligrams all at once at night. It used to nock me out but now I slightly notice it. Gave me really bad gas at first but it went away ,thank God. My joints and muscles get a little stiff but they have another med for that.
Yeah, they told me about Cogentin for the stiffness. Their suggestion was to try Benadryl first if that becomes an issue for me.

My doc told me that Tylenol PM has benodryl in it so I take it sometimes. Cogentent makes you feel weird ,but does work.
I was on the 30 mg two or 3 timesa day. Cant remember.
As well as cogentin. It helped with voices but side effects were to heavy.
