Spanish learners

I am trying out learning spanish with an AI program.

The site is called ‘Talkpal’.

I am on the free trial atm.

I can chat and practice oral skills on it too. It has basic functions and skill lessons.

It looks pretty good so far.

Anyone else tried it?

@Jonathan2 have you tried spanish chat with AI?

I haven’t tried it.

Getting ready to go to bed.

Will try to remember to have a look at it tomorrow.

I just had a look at the website.

It’s hard to assess how good it is.

But I already have an AI charged subscription and will follow some face to face classes in July.

That will have to do for now.

But please keep us updated on your experiences.

Hola, que tal?

The AI program works with other languages too.

It is more like you can chat like you are talking to a person and it will answer all the questions.
You can chat like on a phone too and it will translate in real time.
It has a debate mode, sentence mode, roleplays, characters and photo mode where you describe and practice description.

it is pretty good so far!

Sounds amazing but how long is the free trial 4?

And once u pay how much is it?

14 days.

The package differs for length of service. £60 for a year (5.99pm equivalence), £9.99 per month for 3 months and more if you pay monthly.

I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, and 2 years in college and I don’t remember much of it. Use it or lose it, as they say haha

I haven’t spoken in spanish for over 20 years so I was a bit stumped chatting in spanish but i understood it all so far. AI understood me and we chatted anyway.

Practice makes perfect!

Very nice, man! It’s cool you’re picking it back up. Spanish is a cool and practical language to learn. I can somewhat understand written Spanish, but having a real-life convo? That’d be near impossible haha.

Hope it goes well for you!

I took two years of spanish. Did nothing for me because I never ran into a spanish speaker where I live that did not also speak English. Pretty much just filled out a school requirement.

There will be larger amounts of Spanish speakers in the US who may not speak English in the future/now. In certain parts of the country, for sure. It may be more useful for young people here in the future, but it did nothing for me. Never needed it and rarely had the opportunity to practice.

The Uk are reknown for our inability to speak foreign languages. Even more so since Brexit.

I don’t know if it is our schooling or what but english speakers in general just don’t bother.

Mods: @Bowens @rogueone @Moonbeam

Mods: This post: I Bet I Can Speak Spanish, is extremely offensive to me as a Mexican American woman and a Spanish speaking person. Please delete this post and close this thread.

I thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’ll give you one for 2. The post is deleted but I see no reason to close the thread. Its simply about speaking Spanish.

The current mods are @Voithos @Moonbeam @Ninjastar and myself, but @Ninjastar and @Moonbeam are both on a bit of a break from moderation.

Um. You get offended by the strangest things.

I was born in South America, speak Spanish fluently, and saw nothing wrong with the post.

The Onion is a satirical website, and often contains irreverent humor.

Not a big deal.

Exactly. The article was actually mocking dumb people.

Edit: I would also like to point out that I’ve never seen @everhopful post anything that is racist or bigoted, ever. I’d say he’s owed an apology.
