When I want a little extra L-theanine in my day I will take three bags of green tea and brew up a pot of the stuff. Then I will drink the tea and take a 100 mg pill of L-theanine. It seems to help. I’ve suffered from intense anxiety for about 45 years, so it is going to take some time to repair my damaged nerves. It’s the damnedest thing, but it feels like the L-theanine is loosening up my connective tissue. It would really be something if the L-theanine could make me more flexible, considering how old I am.

I’m thinking of ditching the benzos and going the L Theanine route. Seems like a more plausible idea.

I’m back on 2x400mg a day now. (=800mg total). I’m back to being sane. I’m just treating it like an extra med now.

Are you on any ADs? I think the L Theanine is acting like an AD for you.
Could explain why it doesnt work for me or others.

I’m not on an AD. But it relieves some of my symptoms so that makes me a bit happier. Maybe that’s it.
The reason it doesn’t work for some people I think is that there are ineffective brands out there.
Look for something that says “suntheanine” on the bottle, then you know what you’re getting.
Also you have to go up dosage wise. Like 100/200mg isn’t much good.
