That it really will get better and I’ll be able to be around people without thinking they’re talking about me. I’m trying
Hey, technology is always getting better. I think (hope) that in our lifetime they will find a method/medication that truly cures this illness. I don’t really have much hope at the moment but you definitely should.
To be honest, it could get better. There’s a good chance it will get better. But there’s a chance it won’t. Many people get better as they age. And from what I’ve read, women in general tend to recover better than men.
You can help yourself by taking your medication as prescribed, seeing a doctor regularly and doing things as simple as getting enough sleep each night, eating right, getting exercise (a tough one for me), and having structure in your life is very helpful. Co-operate with people who are trying to help you. Most of themhonestly want to help you and see you get better. Schizophrenia is tough but many schizophrenics carve out a little niche in life, and it is vry, very, possible to get something out of life. You are going to have tough times in your life, its a guarentee. But having good times is possible too.
Oh yeah, DON’T DO DRUGS.
They will derail your recovery and your life in huge ways. Stay away from those people who use them. Even former addicts and alcoholics can have their defenses chipped away and their resolve to stay clean can be weakened by putting yourself in situations where drugs are being used. This is true of anybody. Do what you can to avoid being constantly exposed to drugs i.e. if your friends, co-workers, family, who use. etc.
for me it gets better than it gets worse. it changes periodically
Thanks. I’m long overdue for things to get better.
Yes, I understand…
