I use generics out here and never had a problem. They should be the same medication.

I use generic Abilify without any problems.

Generic vs. brand is a real Americanism from what I observe here

They’re licensed under strict conditions, and your FDA would come down like a ton of bricks if someone sold Aripiprazole not up to standards

We have pretty much all Generics here in the uk

I have been on branded Abilify and Latuda, but that was because they were released here before a patent expired - which is unusual for our regulators.

Anyway, don’t fall for the marketing material. The chemicals and the make up would be identical is my understanding of how these things work.

Just because the drug company has an expired patent, don’t fall for the rumours that they’re probably perpetuating as they have lost control of their drug, and understandably they want you to continue to be a good customer

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard someone say a medicine’s generic doesn’t work as well for them, or works differently.

I have a theory, or maybe it’s a hypothesis…
Anyways, I wonder if maybe some of the additives in the generics aren’t as absorbable to some people, thus preventing the medicine from being metabolized as it should.

Just like some people are more/less sensitive to sugar or caffeine than others.

I have been on both branded and generic Abilify, same thing, same side effects and same effects.
