Our council provided us all with recycling bins. The initiative has worked for me - I never used to recycle before
I have bin for plastic and one for papers and cardboard and a general rubbish bin
We have:
General waste bin
Garden waste/food bin
Plastic/glass recycling bin
Paper/cardboard bin
Other countries need to start recycling collections, it works quite well.
I used to recycle a fair amount of stuff at my previous place. The council gave us pink recycling bags. They weren’t enough , but I bough recycling bags from Sainsbury’s . The only thing I didn’t do was recycle food waste. We had small bags for that ,but it just seemed like too much bother.
Here, there have never been any recycling bags given. There is no place to separately put recyclable stuff.
I think you can go to the council offices and they give you them. They do that here anyway, might be different.
I live in a housing association property. Even if the council gave them there’s no way of putting recyclable bags separate from non-recyclable bags.
I got my new flat all the recycling bins bc i had them at my temporary flat and they are well used, i like the food waste caddies bc it stops the smells and its good to recycle that too,
in my house i keep food waste under the counter tied up with the lid down and i take it out when they are full, i’ve 2 separate bins in the hall and my general bin in the corner of my kitchen
My city just introduced the standard general waste bin and recycling bin. We’ve had the yard/food waste bin for a year or two now, but lagging behind because still no glass/plastic recycling bin…!
I take glass, plastic, and cardboard/paper stuff to a bin at the local park.
It really cuts down on the amount of trash each week.
I hope it helps, kinda wish I could get a cut of the money the township makes on recycling the waste.
We always recycle here.
We have a huge recycling bin that the town owns.
It takes cardboard, glass, aluminum etc…
We do that too. The city we live in makes it easy to do luckily.
Our town has a dump just outside village limits. You have to buy stickers for your bags or pay a company totake your trash. We pay a company but take recycling to the dump for free. It’s only open Wednesday and Saturday. It takes glass, paper, cardboard, pkastic, and metal cans.
I have three big bags I fill with
1)Tetrapak cartons (soya milk cartons)
2)cardboard and paper
3)plastic
When they’re full I take them to recycling centre
I have only one small bag of rubbish to throw away per week. When I move house I want to start a compost heap as well.
I live in an apartment complex in a city. All we have is a trash bin and a trash collector. We don’t have a recycling option. We did in the retirement home I lived in last.
