So i got a credit card bill from chase

I knew I hadn’t charged anything on that credit card in a long time. It appeared to be a bill and I opened it kind of anxious about it. Sure enough someone charged almost $270 from Comcast. I told the operator that I haven’t used that credit card in a few years and I don’t have an account with Comcast. So they are investigating it for fraud. I have no intentions in paying it. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Happens alot. They should be able to trace it to where it came from. I’d probably file a police report as well just so that you ha e it on record

Yeah my sister thinks that if you use credit cards its bound to happen to you. She told me she had like 600 dollars charged to her discover card in new York state that were fraudulent. I asked chase if I should file a police report they said it wasn’t necessary and they would handle it. I can’t image not using a credit card. I wouldn’t be able to buy things online unless they had paypal or some other payment method and even paypal can get hacked as well. It is also very hard to travel without a credit card as well.

Sounds like the problem is being taken care of. Just let the credit card issuer take care of the problem and co-operate with them. It’s happened to me a few times, the last time was about a year ago. When it happened to me someone had charged a couple hundred dollars on my account. The fraud department at the credit card company took care of it and I didn’t have to pay a cent of the fraudulent charges.
