I smell things sometimes and I don’t know if they’re real or not. Recently I was walking with my mom in a nature place and I kept smelling some kind of stench. I didn’t mention it but mom would’ve mentioned if she smelled something wrong. She didn’t. Three or four years ago I started smelling something awful in my apartment. Like a dead animal. It would go away and then come back. Dead animals don’t do that. It made me paranoid. Do you smell things that aren’t there

I suffer from this. It’s usually a burning smell like electrical so I have to check out everything just in case. It can be a huge pain. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it.

Sometimes I smell peanut butter out of nowhere, today I smelled play dough. So yeah. Welcome to the forum!

I don’t smell things that aren’t there but I have plenty of other issues. Have you been diagnosed with psychosis? Hallucinations?

A few tips on things that confuse newbies:

Cake day is the anniversary date of when you joined.

The 1515 or other numbers at the end of peoples posts are because there’s a 15 character minimum to post. So people put 15s after until they get to the minimum characters to post.

I’ve smelled things that weren’t there before. It’s usually just a few minutes or less and then it stops. It’s not very often. I’m on Caplyta as an antipsychotic. It happened when I was on Geodon too.

I smell things that aren’t there sometimes too. They are almost always bad things. Usually the smell doesn’t last too long, thankfully. It’s like someone shoving something in my face though, when it happens. It’s strong.
