Slow talker

Since i have been a resperadol, some says something and then i takes me close to five minutes to think of a response and by that time they have moved onto another topic. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes it can be a sedating medicine and it really slows you down. I got off it and take other medications now.

what do you take now?

um let’s see

I take the maximum dose invega sustenna injection once per month

I take geodon, venlafaxine, gabapentin, doxepin at night, prazosin for nightmares, and vitamin D supplement.

I know you’re going through a hard time so here’s an idea. Write emails and letters to the people you have a hard time conversating with. Maybe if you do that you can put in some details as to how you’re doing or something?

I dunno it’s just a thought.

at work is when i have problems getting my ideas across. i stock shelves in grocery store so we do not really use email

Well it sounds like you should try different medication. I’m functioning somewhat but heavily medicated still and have to drink a whole ton of water the get my body functioning well. But I went through ALOT of medication changes and gained a whole mess of belly fat if you know what I mean?? LOL I try to laugh it off but it’s embarassing to me being this big, I feel horrible about the way I look.

I spoke more on Risperdal at least coherently

Yep, I’ve experienced this. Sometimes, who I’m speaking to moves on to the next question/topic and so I have to move on yet am still trying to answer the previous question/topic. Got to try to cover more ground, if a typical psych-appointment lasts up to an hour. Go at my speed and we aint going to cover much subject matter.

I always experience this! I have disorganized schizophrenia so when i try to talk my thoughts are just all over the place which makes me stutter and talk really slow. its funny cause my parents always ask me if I am high. lol. They just don’t understand the thought process of a schizophrenic.
