Poverty of Speech and Meds

I have pretty bad poverty of speech where I don’t talk much and just say “yes” “no” and “I don’t know” mostly when talking and I think it’s caused by my Invega 234 mg shot. It’s a mind numbing drug that makes you feel flat and low energy and like there are no thoughts in your head. I’m switching to Vraylar soon and I’m wondering if in anybody’s experience this will help with poverty of speech. And do you feel like your meds cause poverty of speech?

Invega sustenna made me have bad poverty of speech !!

I seriously hated that med

I’m on risperidone, and I cant really talk to people. My mind is blank, then I get conscious of it and it gets worse. I dont have this problem with my mother. Never had this problem before meds.

I also had some minor problems with risperidone concerning poverty of speech. I would stop mid sentence pretty often and forget what i was saying. Not sure how to fix it, i ended up talking in the mirror and practicing

I’m on abilify now and dont have much problems talking. Just a set of different problems to deal with.

I had that problem on Abilify. People said having a conversation with me was like pulling teeth. E

I still sometimes do the yes and no thing, but I’ve gotten better at varying my replies to sound more interested.
