Sleeping recommend hours to sleep

My therapist thinks I should sleep less as it will reduce stress levels so I am going bed an hour later

8 hours of sleep is recommended however I’ve learned recently that apparently there is no real reason this is the case and that actually there seems to be wide variation in the actual best amount of sleep people need, it varies with the individual. For example I need around 11-12 hours of sleep a night to feel completely rested and be at my most mentally and emotionally healthy. My boyfriend says he only needs 6.

If you are sleeping so much that you aren’t getting anything done and it’s stressing you out then yes it would probably be better to sleep a bit less but sometimes it can be hard to do so. Maybe you could get tested for a sleep disorder.
