I’m thinking about telling him and maybe saying that I am not looking for a serious relationship…
You do what you feel is right for you when you feel the time is right
Tell him man…are u high functioning…diana…
My boyfriend found out the hard way about my illness. We’re still together, but man it’s been rough at times. Six years!
I told him through text. Still haven’t heard back. I am not working but I have no positive symptoms…
Best of luck
I told my wife on our second date, doing what she thought was right, she asked her cousin who was a nurse… her cousin is a terrible person, but she didn’t know that yet. I was “dsm style” listed as a potential serial killer, but it should be ok if your up for that. Later after I made her understand that’s beyond off the top. After we got in engaged, her other cousin (the brother of the nurse) was having a lot of baby momma drama, following day, I heard the police were at his house and we went try to nail him out… his sister was calling and taunting him so much, the swat team shows up to his house. His response was “I have a 44 magnum and I hate cops”.
The more info you give first will highly affect what happens to the source they go to next. I’m lucky my wife found out her cousin is a real psycho…
I think for me in most cases it would go something like 10th date in “hey hunny so i was at the lake today…oh btw I’m schizophrenic…and I caught a big fish at the lake :)”
at least I hope it would go like that
I tell people if/when it becomes relevant. Honesty is always good, and encourages trust
I always told who I was dating right away about my illness…they deserve to know and then once it’s in the open there’s nothing to backlash when they find out.
Yeah I told him. Still haven’t heard back
I said it is part of the reason I’m not working and that maybe I’m not ready for a serious relationship for that reason…
I was lucky I didn’t have to tell my partner in the beginning of the relationship we were already together for two years when I got sick. but I have and she has had to tell others about my diagnosis and that has had some negative and positive consequences.
