I hoped i will be at least flagged/maybe banned for talking about weapons/guns. Now being serious i don’t see the reason a man should own such a thing. Anyway i see triggering things, i post triggering things :wink:

I have a shotgun/rifle combo. You switch the barrels out. It is taken apart right now.

Edit to add- I’m not a big man.

I think the law is that if you’ve been involuntarily committed you’re not allowed to own one. Which i have been.

I don’t know about shotguns compared to handguns, but suicides by firearm is probably one of the most common ways.

You don’t have to register shotguns so it doesn’t matter.

Mental health status is not allowed to be used against someo e here unless they have a violent criminal background as far as I know.

I lived in the country/forested area with an aggressive coyote problem. I also had hoped my husband would shoot a deer or two with the rifle. I say I own it but I really got it for my husband. We share everything so it is just as much mine.

With it taken apart I have zero desire to put it together to commit suicide. Besides that is an asinine thing to do to your family. A friend of mine had to clean up the mess his stepfather made with that.

I bought a 12 gauge once when I was driving around the country living out of motel rooms in psychosis. That could have ended very badly.

After that I won’t allow myself to own another firearm

Uh, no. It was a tool for absolute last resort home defence back when we owned one. Also necessary when working livestock in cougar and wolf country.

I live in the country and most of the people around here own guns. Handguns, shotguns and rifles. Murder is unheard of here. Guns don’t equal murder. Murderous, unstable people do.
