Shall I trust my PDOC (vraylar)

She wants that I would give another chance for cariprazine.
last time I believe I tried it for ~4months, but it was not so helpful for me as ablify. Ablify realy created miracles for me, but I want to try smth which would help me even more.
but she really really wants me to try again and take vraylar maybe even for 5 years. She says there’s possibility it will eliminate all the illusions or hallucinations I have.
What to do? Shall I trust her?

**I need to add. I trust my pdoc. Just last time experience with vraylar was more negative than positive for me.

Why not stick with abilify?

Somehow I have this idea that ablify is not effective for me as it was previously. I have a bit lower insight than when I started taking it.
Also, my pdoc reccomendation is to try vraylar again.

Pdocs have their own bias sometimes and ignore the prior experience of the patient.
I have had pdoc errors over the years.

sad to agree, but it could be the case…
but probably I will give another chance to vraylar.

With the support from your Psychiatrist hopefully things will work out for the better.

I hope the same. I think she has no reason to lie for me.

Auditorial, I have voices inside my head from time to time.
Though last weeks it happens rarely @Medusa
And actually really rarely but visual hallucinations happen too

So soon I’ll be taking vraylar

According to meta analysis the effect size of abilify isn’t that different from vraylar

If you really want to get rid of all the hallucinations and delusions ,you should try a more potent antipsychotic like risperidone ,amisulpride etc google lancet antipsychotic meta analysis to check that out

@swordiebrom I know what you mean… but this my pdoc, which I am visiting from 2017 never gave me potent antypsichotic
She gave me haloperidol at the beginning, then ablify and vraylar. Oh once I took for several months quetiapine for a sleep

Overall I am thankful for ablify. This one saved my life

Because of how current ap works, more potent AP usually have more side effects too

Okay I’ll keep that in mind

So this night I will take vraylar for a first time after long time.
I also will take ablify. (In case if I need it.)

Do they interact well together? Ablify and vraylar?

Abilify and Vraylar are made of the same brew(3. Gen antipsychotics). So sure they should work well together.
