@Wave sorry, yes it’s permanent

What actions did your doctor take to alleviate your TD symptoms?

@Wave I’m on Busperon (probably misspelled) and it works but I gotta take it 3 times daily

Perhaps mention to your doctor the merits of monotherapy - ie in the UK the policy is to use only one antipsychotic.

does that mean u arent allowed to take more than one?

This isn’t true. You can take more than one and some do.

Taking two different antipsychotics is acceptable depending on the doses and brands

In the UK if (a big if) a psychiatrist follows what is called NICE guidelines then yes

you are only prescribed one antipsychotic. I know in the US they have a different

policy.

I am unable to post a link but you can google NICE antipsychotics.

I agree that one antipsychotic is safer than two but APs like Abilify work differently
Some people require two APs @FitandReady

I was told by my psychiatrist after I requested abilify and amisulpiride that they would cancel some of each other’s effects.

Not so with taking Risperdal and Abilify

Hi Wave

Did you find risperidal helpful for anxiety?

You mentioned above your psychiatrist wants you off risperidal. I personally did not like risperidone.

Although I did not have TD with it , it did not help with the anxiety.

At the end of the day you will need to discuss all this with your psychiatrist.

Risperdal is great for my moods but pretty neutral for anxiety @FitandReady

I am in the UK I take 2 antipsychotics. One injection of abilify and also 50mg qutiapine a day.

I’m also on melatonin and guidlelines here say it’s only for elderly and children. Still my psychiatrist prescribed it. And it is doing good for me.
