Self care. What about you?

Do you do anything in particular? Or what do you consider “self-care”?

I think of me doing my orange and honey face masks once in awhile as self care.

Also coloring in my adult coloring book.

Listening to music.

Homemade body scrubs…

Buying new clothes for myself or baby human.

I guess my list could go on and on lol

I do a lot of self care stuff.

I think it’s important to feel like you look nice and take care of your skin.

Also, I clean a lot and think that’s a self care thing.

Living in a clean environment keeps your stress down.

Good point. Maybe that’s why I’m stressed/anxious for no reason :joy: our place is pretty cluttered

My hair routine. I use a comb only with very few teeth and brush my hair gently. I use aloe Vera shampoo. I’m trying to preserve my hair from falling out. Whilst on my higher dose of abilify.

My self care is not great. Im so busy with a child. I do regulary shower though. And sometimes i have a nap.

I should pamper myself more really. Infact i think this thread has inspired me to do that.

I try and take good care of my hair, as self-care

I use a fancy shampoo and blow dry/style my hair straight at the beginning of the week so it always looks good

I try to exercise regularly and eat well.

I also shower daily and wash my hair twice a week.

I keep my nails coloured pretty.

I listen to positive affirmations .

I buy myself nice things when I can.

Be true to myself and be vegan.

Try to love and respect myself enough to not allow others to disrespect me or be in relationship where I’m not treated pretty perfect.

I keep my goatee trimmed with scissors down to stubble about once a month, then I trim my eyebrows, they grow fast. don’t want bushy eyebrows. shower about three times a week, do isometrics, walk outside a lot…brush my teeth morning and night and shave about every third day.

I installed a cute app called Finch. It allows me to make daily goals for all sorts of things. They even have guided help for things like anxiety.

It has a little digital pet you raise through completing self care goals. You decorate a house, dress up your bird, its fun.

I try to maintain good self care but lately I’ve mainly only had the energy to brush my teeth and shower sometimes.

I am lucky enough to have an alter that takes care of some stuff so I never get too bad but I want to improve

I do some writing. It helps. I used to do a little exercise, but not so much anymore. The doctor told me my triglycerides were a “little high”. I think he was engaging in understatement. I’ve been consuming tons of sugar, and my triglycerides are probably sky high.

Self-care for me is mostly tending to my health.

I just bought a satin pillow case— apparently it’s better for your hair and skin than traditional cotton (or so the interwebs say ).

I also try to take nice showers when I can and use body oils or lotion afterwards.

Makeup to me is a form of self care, so on days I’m feeling up to it, I like to put some on and it makes me feel a little more put together and confident.

I also like to use perfumes— I think scent can be very powerful in lifting and changing one’s mood, so I like to spritz a little perfume on myself. Also helps cover up my smelly self when I haven’t showered in a bit .
