Seems like my pdoc wants me to get hooked

does it mention PRN on the bottle? A lot of times they will say, like, 0.5 mg up to two times daily PRN, or “as needed.” They sometimes do that so you always have the amount of meds you need, because you don’t need to refill it every 30 days exactly. One refill could last you months when you take it PRN.

Either way definitely tell your pdoc you are just going to take it as needed. I seriously doubt they would ever argue against that. That’s just good practice with benzos period. Any pdoc who isn’t a fool would encourage that.

@thomas , I just looked at my bottle of clonazepam, and it says this: take one tablet by mouth 3 times a day as needed for anxiety

So you’re correct, as usual.

It says take one tablet twice a day.
It doesn’t mention anything about PRN or as needed.

Did you take klonopin yet.You got tablets yesterday.

Not going to take them zoa.
Not unless I really need to.
I’ve explained myself already.

I find that just having a prn on hand is helpful, even if you only rarely need to use it. It provides peace of mind that you have an option in case you need it.

Klonopin works for me. Sorry it doesn’t work for you. At first I didn’t understand why I had to take it. But I followed the doctor’s order and took it consistently in order to feel the effects of it. It helps me with anxiety and intrusive thoughts.
