Was prescribed 0.25mg of Xanax daily used

My psychiatrist prescribed me 0.25 mg of Xanax till the next appointment if taken daily dose of 0.25mg…or I can take 0.5mg once a day for 5 weeks.I heard this drug had done good for many schizophrenia diagnosed people

I plan to start the 0.5mg 5 weeks later and take it for 5 weeks to see its effect.The pharmacy said take it only when it’s needed,she is helpful but maybe I need it daily,my Anxiety is bad lol

I’d take it 45 min to an hour before you have to do anything stressful. Wouldn’t take it more often than that.

Okay,I plan to take it every 2pm during work when its the most dull time,I heard it last for 6-8 hours…hope it’s true

Be very careful of Benzo addiction - it is real.
My last psychiatrist got me hooked on Klonopin, she told me to take them everyday, regardless if I need them or not.
Now I am physically dependent on them - Xanax is a heavy hitting Benzo - very easy to get addicted.
I would take them as needed only - but you have a pdoc for this.
Use caution with Benzos - they are very potent

how long have you been on benzo,there are few people here that take benzo daily and it seems to help them a lot

I have been on benzos for more than 20 years - but have been taking it everyday for like maybe 10 years or so?

I wonder are you still on it?
My anxiety is bad where I would exclude myself from most social interaction even with family but it’s not very bad…I will see if I really need to take it daily…have got a psychotheraphy session in next week

Well thats good that you have therapy also - Benzos work better when you take them as needed -
If you take Benzos regularly everyday, tolerance comes to play - you get used to it at that dose and will need more and more in order for it to work properly - I am still taking them daily

I’m told not to take them everyday but on an as needed basis.

Tolerance was becoming an issue so I was taken off them for a while. This is one thing my doc and I have been very careful with due to my past.

I’m pretty proud of myself when I can go a few days without them. It gets easy too start taking them just because. But I’ve been working on assessing the level of the anxiety before I just grab the Xanax.
