What does this mean? I know it’s not a hallucination, because I have lots of those, but why do I see faces all around me? For instance, I was just outside and saw a face in the grass. Electrical outlets look like evil screaming faces to me. Lots of things. Why do I experience this? It’s creepy! Sometimes these faces scare me.
I get this too and it can be really scary/disturbing. But in my experience, while it’s not a typical hallucination, it is part of psychotic thinking. For me it never goes away even when my other psychotic symptoms do. Maybe it’s to do with perception. People with Sz/SzA are just wired differently from normal people and I think it causes things like this to happen.

Something similar happens to me. When I am driving, mailboxes and trees look like people who are about to jump into the road. I asked my doctor about it and he said it is still a type of hallucination. Your mind sees one thing and interprets it as something else.
It used to happen to my ex that didn’t have psychosis, he just saw faces everywhere. He attributed to his creativity though

Natural causes…its imbedded in our brains to identify faces …may be exaggerated due to the illness though…seems like your face Id mech is running a little high…

Some people are just wired that way. I always see the things no one else does.
There are faces on my walls, floors, in the cobwebs above my shower. I see them, everywhere.
I see the messages on walls and the coded ones on hospital walls. I always try to decipher them, in case they’re about me.
You’re not alone, it’s merely a perception difference.
This happened to me a time where i was getting high in my room and i started to meditate. I began thinking about a combination of physics (former IB physics student) and the multi-universe and then something odd happened to my body and began to see two different mes in the corner of each of my eyes and they said you have finally arrived and they wouldn’t go away for the rest of the night. This is my only time experiencing this. Hope yours isnt to taking on your mental well being. Good luck mate!
What flame said. A part of our brains is responsible for facial and speech recognition. Imo that part of the brain contributed greatly to these types of illnesses.
I get that too! I see FACES IN EVERYTHING, AND IF ITS NOT EXACTLY FACES i SEE, ITS INANIMATE OBJECTS GIVING OFF A MOOD, EVERYTHING IS THREATENING AND CREEPY LIKE THEY WANT TO DO ME HARM. i DON’T BELIEVE THEY ARE GOING TO HARM ME BUT i FEEL IT… I KNOW IT ISN’T REAL BUT IT STILL ■■■■■ ME UP BADLY SOMETIMES. ITS THERE, ALWAYS, BUT HOW INTENSE IT IS GOES UP AND DOWN, THROUGHOUT MY DAY.
i have psychosis and the faces are always there, just like you said, even when other psychosis symptoms aren’t. They almost always disturb me, and seeing things like this in my world I find quite isolating,
