Eating pure protein supplements and loads of gym time

Abusing steroids, eating too much food and generally just being too heavy for your height is a recipe for heart issues. Now people who are natural and lift weights, can be very healthy. Lifting weights is good for you. These professional body builders just take it too far.

Dam, I have been working out a lot and taking protein shakes. This is not good news for me :frowning: lol.

I am a bodybuilder but I’m not professional. Do I have to worry?

I think what they mean is that, it could be potentially fatal for those people who take supplements, like testosterone, and go on a high protein diet for years. Well, I take protein shakes, but not testosterone or other things that aid muscle development. I don’t want to get too big, but I can’t help but gain muscle, as my trainer says, my genetics are in the top 1 percent of people or so. I gain muscle very fast. Like my upper region is already bigger than my trainer in 4-5 months of training, whereas he may have trained for 4 years with reasonably good genetics, plus all the other trainers at the gym take aids such as testesterone and stuff, as well. I hope the training doesn’t affect my heart in the long-run, but it could be potentially fatal for those who take supplements such as testesterone and there is a lot of other stuff they take, from what I understand.

I’m not any sort of expert on this topic, but it seems to me that none of you are at great risk of major heart problems due to body building. The article I posted just lets you know what you should avoid doing.

I have seen people in the past that go to the gym way too much

One of them literally ate as many chicken breasts per day for the protein

Never thought it was a healthy thing to do

Everything in moderation.

Totally agree with you.

I got obsessive with food once that for 6 months only ate cous cous, tuna and microwaved frozen chopped veg

Got down to 55 kilos

I am 105 kilos now

The hospital treated my blood and it was showing some sort of marker for my body that wasn’t good

Almost seems cruel that they then proceeded to medicate with Olanzapine

That’s revolting!

My husband is absolutely gigantic but he does it completely naturally. He’s very healthy. But people look at him and assume he’s on steroids. It’s frustrating

Yea it’s the steroids not working out that causes it. Steroids is like overclocking your cpu, it over works it. Steroids extract from the body the locked away strength for longevity and brings those resources in the body for the short term. So yea steroids quite literally by definition kill you. Slowly but surely. Sometimes quickly, and with social media pressuring people to push the envelope, the bar gets raised higher and higher and now people are dying like flies. Even the “healthy” ones who aren’t in the hospital or the grave are on the edge of death. Body building is not the problem it’s steroid use.
