Schizophrenics in other countries

He should be supervised until he’s stable somewhat and court ordered to take the meds and therapy. Then supervised

Anyway it sucks for all of you dealing with it

Yeah idk if they have a long care hospital for that or if a group home with mandated injections would help. Who knows what’s gonna happen. A lawyer wanted $60,000 to deal with his case. Seems excessive.

Long term hospital would be a step up from prison for him and he might learn skills how to manage himself and with view to shared living if he was safe around the public

I don’t know they have something like that in the us. Most people just end up in the mental health part in prison I think. Not really the same as a hospital. Who knows. They shut down all the long term care facilities or mental hospitals when meds came around.

Yeah if Medicare doesn’t cover it I don’t think it’d be affordable. How did you afford it? If we have those. That sounds great.

In my country, if you are on a depot and miss your depot appointment, the police come after you.

Is it like that across da large pond, in America and Canada?

If you have CTO or court order.

I was on depot and lapsed. Nothing happened.

Are you saying you were on depot, missed your appointment, and they didn’t even call you or such?

I was on depot and responsible for my own injection. For a while i had nurse practitioner doing it. They dont have any authority. I didnt have an appointment. They cant make you take it here unless cto or court condition or involuntary patient

Yea maybe that’s the same in my country 2 actually.

Because the person I know of who had the police come after them, may also have been under CTO sorry. I don’t know the facts.

Im not sure. I thought my brother was court ordered but maybe not. My mom was in charge of my brother at that time.

Im actually kind of frustrated with my mom about the situation. I probably shouldn’t be if the courts didn’t order it. We did a lot for him anyways. My mom was more sheltered though and I think not good at thinking outside the box or bending rules to find solutions. Idk that’s just my opinion.

Hope your bro is doing OK. Court order is serious. If he is or was under that.

He needs it. He’s been in and out of jail, prison, and hospitals for the last 12 years. He’s done so much crazy ■■■■ cause his mental illness. At this point it’s either treatment or he’s just gonna end up in prison over and over.
