Schizophrenics in other countries

Vaping is $60 a month and insurance is $50. Gas is another $60. Weekly that’d be around $65.

oh yeah, i guess we get similar amounts then

The benefits are generous in Belgium compared to other countries, but you still are at the lower end of the income scale. There is social housing but the waitlists are very long. The good thing is there are plenty of pdocs and you can choose them yourself. I’ve changed twice when I wasn’t happy.

There are also group homes, psychiatric care homes (my uncle is in one), which are subsidized by the Government.

They encourage you to work part-time but that is not always possible.

You need permission to work, volunteer, study or to travel abroad. It’s a bit of a controlling system but usually they approve.

I hope that gives you some insight.

Since Covid the services in my part of England have got even worse

Almost impossible for people to access services

Very long wait times

Our government does not help by underfunding it

As far as I am concerned they brought in the care in the community

They have saved so much money not having to write us all off and lock us up

Almost feels like there is an unwritten rule to me that if they deny inpatient care to all but the most acute then the community services need to be funded and staffed appropriately
