Had to quit my job, cant work in the field i want to work with.

The same happened to me. It’s a familiar story. I was first hospitalised at 38.

No I don’t. But maybe volunteering is a good idea to get you back into the game.

My software career lasted from 18 to 23 and then crashed and burned because of SZA. You are not alone. I’m working on starting my own business now. Never give up!

It can ruin your life, but then you just have to take your life back. It’s very possible. We have members that work part and full time, have relationships, they live on thwir own, and more.

One inspirational member is @shutterbug

Think so too but there is some part that wishes i was still the old me.
I cant even drink anymore and party.
Not saying that drinking is a good thing

It has ruined it, then I re-built it - that process has happened a fair few times now…

Recovery is not a straight line that goes up to pre-sz levels and stays there

There are some zigs and zags

But it’s worth trying to beat through the illness where possible, and it can be done if you can get some luck with the right meds + support from wherever you can get it from in your situation.

Don’t close the book until it’s finished

There are!

For example, when I had my major psychotic break I was a freelance writer and novelist. The break ruined that career. But now I am a librarian!

Adjactent career.

Im lucky that i am doing good in meds since they kicked in.

Could be!

Some advice, try part time first. Low hours are less stress. Step it up as you are able and do not give up if you fall a few times.

It isntthe fall that defines you, it is the getting up and continuing to try.
