Schizophrenia or poltergeist?

Okay, so I’m new here. I’m not new to the disease though. I’m 43 years old and was diagnosed with schizophrenia, manic depression, panic disorder and PTSD throughout my teenage years. Now they call it or me schizoaffective, I guess. Anyways, when I was first diagnosed I always felt like something was touching my hair, my arms, my legs while trying to sleep in my bedroom as a teen and I would sleep with both doors closed and the lights off but would wake up with both doors wide open and the lights on that no one did. It stopped when I started my new meds of course. I really thought every place I moved to was haunted but now I wonder…am I haunted? Like, personally? I haven’t taken my meds in three days and last night got very scary. Before last night, I had been hearing three knocks in a row on my bedroom wall waking me up. Then I started hearing taps on my ceiling. Last night I woke up at exactly 3:33 to a tap. I tried to just stay still and go back to sleep but then my bed shook a and I heard a growl in my left ear so I jumped out of bed and slept on my living room couch while there were weird noises in the adjoining kitchen but I had the t.v. on loud. Also something moved my hand from my belly to my heart. It was very gentle but I don’t think I did it myself. Also, I felt a little slap on my elbow but it didn’t hurt. I felt the soft presence of it on my skin the whole day. My daughter passed away eight years ago and I’d like to think it’s her or just my mind. Should I just ignore everything and take all my meds or could it possibly be more?

These are called tactile hallucinations and are common with the disease.

You have to take your meds every day otherwise things can go bad.

I used to think my apartment was haunted from 2013-2019. After I started Invega injections in 2019 things got better.

I think you should always take your meds.

I also struggle with thinking I’m being haunted.

It’s not fun.

You should resume your medication and see how you feel in a week or so after being back on track.

It’s the illness and that’s all. Take your meds as directed.

I used to think I was being visited by Satan until my meds made that go away. Maybe tell your pdoc (psychiatrist) you’re having these thoughts. A different dose or different med might help you

The meds don’t remove all symptoms for everyone. I have aliens 24/7. That does not mean that there are greys intent on colonizing Earth right now. Sometimes you have to find alternate strategies when the meds don’t do enough for you.

Yes I was fundamentalist Christian growing up and sometimes laying in bed I thought something was putting its hands on my head. Welcome to the forum!

I’ve had the waking up at 3:33 thing. The brain is really accurate when it comes to time so something must have triggered you to wake up then. Probably SZ or a dream.
