Tactile Hallucinations

I just recently got diagnosed with schizophrenia. Years before any real symptoms, I can specifically remember experiencing tactile hallucinations. For a while it felt like hands were around my neck when I would lay down to go to sleep. They weren’t choking me, I could just feel the presence of something else there that wasn’t suppose to be. I would have to bunch up covers and rest them under my chin just to distract myself enough to fall asleep. I have also experienced sleep paralysis. I was a teenager back when it first happened, I asked my grandfather what it was, he said ‘the witch was riding me.’ Since my diagnosis, I experience tactile hallucinations that are sexual in nature. Back before I sought treatment, the voices would terrorize me with just about anything under the sun. My thoughts were so freakin abnormal, scary, I thank God I was delivered from the insanity! Psychosis and a delusional mind are not happy place to be.

The sexual tactile’s I still experience don’t bother me. It’s the least they could do after the terror they put me through in the past!

Avoid stimulants like amphetamines all the way down to coffee.

They all trigger them

It depends on the person. I live on coffee.

Hi @dap_delus Welcome to the community. I hope you will like it here. It’s a very supportive environment.

I suffer from tactile and auditory hallucinations, too. But recently, I’ve experienced more tactile hallucinations. They are hands on my legs (sometimes sexual). But, I also feel sharp implements like knives and needles. I also get - and it’s strange - gerbils jumping around my legs. It’s a horrible feeling. And the sharp implements cause pain, physically. So, I can really relate to what you are conveying. I hope we both feel much better soon.

Welcome, I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I experienced sexual tactiles too for a very long time except mine bothered me tremendously. It was accompanied by abusive voices that would harm me if I didn’t obey. I ended up with ptsd from it.

Thankfully my medication made it go away. I hope you can get on good meds to make all your scary stuff go away too.
