It’s a moving target, I think most of us are suffering from some of the worst symptoms of Schizophrenia, whether we’re comorbid, or something else entirely (Bipolar or whatever).

For me, I know for sure I’m paranoid schizophrenic, though I have no idea where that came from. At first I solidly believed the doctors were just brushing off my concerns, then all sorts of strange paranoid beliefs began popping up. I thought everything from neighbors, family members, to criminal enterprises were conspiring against me and colluding with each other to get me.

I don’t hear voices, or have hallucinations, though, which as a layman I always thought was the main feature of schizophrenia. So I’m still not 100% convinced, but am enough to keep taking my meds.

you don’t seem to be bipolar

maybe they caught it early, and never had the voices

you’d likely get them if coming off of meds

I was originally diagnosed bipolar back when i was like nineteen. At the age of thirty i was diagnosed schizoaffective. So i figure i get the best of both worlds.

what’s the schizophrenia aspect, because mines paranoid schizophrenia, nothing has changed.

Off meds I’ve been very bipolar but Moreso did I identify with schizophrenia I felt psychosis was more fitting for me than moods. Alas, I’ve been diagnosed schizophrenic but my main diagnosis that’s stuck with me these years Is sza. I don’t think we should be such an “exclusive” club because we need all the help we can get from all different flavors

I guess paranoid sz. I don’t hear voices much, sometimes noises but not often. I am very paranoid though and have thoughts that i’m told aren’t real.

For the record I’ve heard voices maybe 10 times in my life… 2 of those times were insane. The internal stimuli has got to me more than the external. Paranoia, disorganized thoughts, erratic behavior, delusions etc… I’ve had it all. But some symptoms less than other ppl.

I guess I don’t understand why schizophrenia is coupled with bipolar

but we have lots of people on here who have bipolar.

Bipolar is often misdiagnosed as sz because many of the symptoms overlap, like hearing voices. People can hear voices or be delusional when they’re manic or depressed. I think that’s where the similarity is. They’re also treated with many of the same meds. Even when my diagnosis was bipolar i was on APs in addition to mood stabilizers.

my good friend with bipolar has never told me that he has ever heard voices,
that really doesn’t seem common

he can smoke pot, and drink sometimes, and never be affected.

It’s not bipolar, it’s schizophrenia and they should stop confusing the two
especially on this forum, so many come here with bipolar.
