I told you guys I would post my paper on here when I was finished and now I finally am! Keep in mind the assignment was to create a hypothetical project, so I won’t actually be running the study I mentioned in it. Not until grad school anyways
However it’s not letting me upload the word doc…@szadmin help??
Can you save the word doc as a pdf and then upload it?
How do I do that?
When you have your document open in Word, click on the “File” tab, then click on “save as” and then in the “Save as type:” menu, select “PDF” and then click the “save” button.
Then you can upload the pdf using the upload button in the forum message window.
Here is a test document I created in word, converted to pdf, and uploaded to the forum:
This is a test.pdf (94.4 KB)
@Anna Also, something to be aware of, when saving a file in Word that you are planning to share with others, and you don’t want any personal identifying information showing up in the file properties (such as your actual name, etc.) , you can do the following steps (at least this works in Word 2010 which is the version I have):
When you have the document open in Word, click on the “File” Tab, then click on the “Info” then click on the “Check for Issues” Icon and click on “Inspect Document”.
A list of items to inpsect shows up with the default having all the checkboxes checked.and then click on the “Inspect” button. If there is a result in the list that has a “!” by it (such as Document Properties and Personal Information). click on the “Remove All” button.
Then if you want to verify the information was removed, click on the “Reinspect” button and then the “Inspect” button to verify everything is OK now (all checkmarksnext to items in the inspection results list means all is OK). Then click on “close”. Then save the file as a word file and/or do the “save as” option and save as a PDF file.
Ok thanks!! I will do this.
Proposal.pdf (381.4 KB)
Here it is! Ignore the letter part, we had to write a letter to our patron as someone who already works for the company we were supposed to be working for (so I wrote as that lady Linda Stalters)
I hope everyone finds the paper informative and interesting!
@Anna I’ve read the first several pages and will read the rest tomorrow after work. From what I have read so far, it is a well-written and well-thought-out paper. Well done!
Are you an undergrad or a graduate student?
I also read some pages, and will continue reading when I get back home. It’s very well written.
I’m an undergrad and thank you!
I wouldn’t even have the concentration to read it unfortunately . I think it’s amazing that you could write something like that.
Fair enough, it is quite a read haha. As long as I’m passionate about something I could write pages and pages.
Well done. It’s an important subject. One of the things I am frequently asked about is my sleep pattern.
@Anna I finished reading your paper this evening. I thought it was very well written and with a solid list of references. I also found it quite interesting. Was this for a class project? It must have taken a lot of time and effort to research the topic, review the references, and write the proposal. Well done!
Yes it was for a class project where we had to pretend we were someone from a nonprofit writing to a patron about a project we wanted funding for. I put a lot of time and effort into it so fingers crossed I get a good grade! Thank you for reading and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
