So my dx changed back to schizoaffective and i did have bipolar symptoms, is it better than schizophrenia or is it a more mild form of it? Anyone here SZA? I dont have voices even when i was having psychosis
Sza is probably worse if you have to deal with periods of severe depression and periods of no depression.
Alot of sz people have never dealt with depression.
However, alot of sza people have never had to deal with voices or hallucinations.
My psychiatrist changed my diagnosis from schizophrenia paranoia to schizoaffective disorder. He said schizoaffective disorder has a better prognosis.
Are you still on disability welfare after the change?
Yes I am still considered disabled.
I don’t believe severely depressed, psychotic people have a good prognosis long term.
Just saying…
It probably means we respond better to medication
That may be true, I’m blessed that I don’t have to take injections.
I cant really tell if it’s worse or not but all I know is SZA differs from SZ due to the Bipolar part.
Im on abilify injections and i can still continue weight lifting but i cant work, diagnosis change makes it very hard for me to get welfare
I lift and cycle.
I take rexulti among other meds to deal with each symptom
I’m sorry you are having a hard time getting help.
Do you live In the United States?
Nope im from greece and the job lobby is very closed it isnt easy to get a job and it pays like 500€ if youre healthy and good looking enough to be hired
It’s hard to get a job here and keep disability as well.
Nobody wants to hire someone who can only work 20 hrs a week.
I have sza, had voices, depression, and mania. In my opinion it’s more to deal with even though they say “the prognosis is better”
It can be like having 2 disabilities instead of just one, but the severity of it in comparison depends on the person I’m sure.
I’m a sza person who has had to deal with both depression and suicidality, and voices, hallucinations, psychosis and paranoia all of my life.
I have SZA depressive type. But I always just say Sz on this site. It’s shorter.
I have sza bipolar type with symptoms like inserted thoughts and voices and severe depression and a few short bursts of hypomania. Had it since I was a teenager and I’m 35 now. It’s been a prominent part of most of my life.
I have sza and voices are my main problem.
I kind of wonder…they havent decided on the diagnosis. Sza is one of their guesses.
I have delusions, but not constantly. No voices. I have clearly got periods of deep psychotic depression and then there are periods i am sort of well, with just bits of delusions here or there. Im kind of wondering at times if the periods i am better are actually hypomania. I just havent got a clue if MY normal is also other peoples normal or what i have.
