It’s hard sometimes when we compare our lives now to how they used to be, what we used to do, and all that. I have made peace with the life i have now though and just go with the flow. It’s not always easy though.

No problem.

I love the new house. It’s really nice and I picked it out. My wife didn’t see it until after I bought it. It’s definitely the nicest place we have ever had.

When it’s paid for I will be happy assuming I live long enough to pay it off. I will be 78 when I make my last mortgage payment. I wish I would have held on to the first house I bought in 1995. It would nearly be paid for.

You’re right. I can’t go back. I should look forward to the future. I’ve been in the process of getting my driver’s license back. That’s something I’m highly looking forward to. Maybe I can try going to school again just to get out of the apartment.

Thanks man. Glad to have helped. I’m not sure which thread but I try to be supportive of others. I’ve noticed people here are mostly kind and helpful. It is nice.

What would you study if you went back to school? You seem like a pretty bright guy on here.

That’s great. I forgot to say thanks for your service on veterans day. I think It’s never too late to appreciate someone who has served this wonderful country so thanks for that. Haha don’t worry you’ll be 78 in no time!

Well originally I wanted to be an English teacher so English was my major. I’m not sure what I’d want to study. Maybe just take a class or two to get used to school again. English is my second language so I enjoy learning more about it. I don’t think I’d be an English teacher though. Thank you for the compliment. I’m not as bright as I used to be thanks to Google search. Before I knew stuff and there was no Google. Now everyone googles things hah.

It’s amazing how times have changed. Google is very useful. YouTube too. I never imagined having all that information and music on the tips of my fingers. I used to have to go buy CDs and books at stores that no longer exist. Even Sears is disappearing. Toys R Us Haha. I have some funny memories of driving from Tijuana to the town where I grew up and wanting to stop at every Toys R Us on the way. Finally my parents stopped at one and they bought me a Godzilla toy. Ah fond old memories.

When i was a kid we had a set of encyclopedias. I liked to sit and read them. Now i’ve graduated to surfing the web. Yeah everything is online now. It’s the place to be. But i still prefer actual physical books. I don’t own an e-reader. I get a lot of books from Amazon, used. I just like to hold an actual book when i’m reading, i guess.

Denmark. I’m pretty sure.

I have trouble reading books now unfortunately. I would like to start again. The last book I read was a family anecdote written by an uncle in Spanish. I didn’t really enjoy his writing style. The story was interesting as I learned more about my grandparents and their kids. They had 14 kids. Imagine traveling in a car with 16 people. Wow.

Yeah i can’t always concentrate. Some days i read, some days i don’t. Hope you get back your ability. That sounds like a pretty interesting book. I just finished reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and i had difficulty with it. I don’t know if it’s his writing style or my mind. I read another one of his years ago, Something Wicked This Way Comes, but i don’t remember if i liked it or not.

I’ve read Farenheit 451. It’s a good book. I can see why you had a little trouble reading it. His writing is a little straightforward although enjoyable for the most part. I had trouble reading a John Grisham book once. I don’t know why but it seemed plain.

I used to read Fantasy books. The Sword of Truth series. The first book is called Wizard’s First Rule. I read it when I was about 13. I’d like to go back and finish the series. The rule is pretty funny. If I remember correctly the first rule is, “People are stupid, they’ll believe a lie because they want to, or are afraid It’s true.” It has some good humor in it.

I ordered a used copy of Dune on Amazon today. @anon94176359 highly recommended it, so i’m gonna give it a go. I’ve never read much sci fi.
