Saving money is actually fun

I’m currently saving money for moving to a bigger apartment next year.
I thought it would be a little tough to save 20,000yen a month, it’s actually easier than I thought and is even fun. I don’t go to the supermarket so often as I used to, like once every 4 days. Before, I went to the supermarket every damn day. This saves money a lot, and I also try not to buy new clothes this winter. I bought some clothes last year, and that should be enough.

One thing I don’t want to cut down on is cosmetics. I just buy what I really want. But even if I bought a few expensive cosmetics I save a lot in other parts of my life so it’s ok and also stress-free. Cosmetics are not what you buy a lot at once and they last for months or even years.

I realize there are many things that I can get by without buying. I think I’m more grateful for what I’ve already got and try to use them more carefully.

I was thinking that I would lead this kind of life just until I move, but now I’m thinking that maybe I should keep this “have as little as I need” way of living for good as there’re many good things about it.

I enjoy living as cheaply as I can. I like getting bargains. I buy most of the food I eat from the Dollar Tree. I like to drink a lot of 1% milk, which I get for $2.57 a gallon at Wal Mart. I don’t cut back on nutrition, either. My diet is pretty healthy. The people where I live aren’t as resourceful at shopping as I am. They buy these expensive, brand name foods, like TGIF Friday’s. I’ve tried some of that food, and it’s good, but it’s not better than the food I get at the Dollar Tree. I can be kind of penny wise and pound foolish, though.

I am into saving Money now and also saving the planet by never needing to buy a 5 p carrier bag and walking instead of driving some of the time
