read a book about a male doctor and his wife not wanting their Down syndrome baby, a colleague took her and raised her. The father then at her grown age, the reluctance, the what? pity, the terrible thought of what he had done, the making of choices we regret.

Oh that’s sad that they would abandon the baby like that. I’m surprised the mother didn’t feel more of a connection to her kid.

When i was in high school my mom knew some people who were raising their grandson and he had Down syndrome. For a while one school year he rode to school with us. I never really knew him that well but he was a nice kid. I think people liked him a lot.

I rode the school bus with a Down syndrome kid. He was kinda mean but I also later in life met a really sweet girl. They’re like everyone else
