After i read wawe s problem of low testosterone issue i ask to my p doc about it.he said that low testosterone problem is low risk issue.i m paliperidone user and this drug very similar to risperidone.and i m worried about low testosterone issue.is there anyone else risperdal user that suffer or not this low testosterone problem.?or as my pdoc said this is a low risk?
i thought the problem was high prolactin and not low testosterone. I could be wrong
So high prolactine level affect testosterone levels down?but when i ask to my p doc he said this can occur at really high dosage of prolactine levels.so its better to ask old risperdal users here.we need old risperdal user as wawe
Sometimes, Antipsychotics can raise Prolactin, and higher prolactin levels (Doesnt have to be very elevated) can in turn lower Testosterone levels, but this does not always happen - I wouldnt worry about it so much @Ocean-spray.
My Prolactin levels are just a bit on the high side, but it still managed to lower my Testosterone levels significantly - this sometimes can happen, but not always.
But I have been taking Risperdal for many years.
I wouldn’t know if my testosterone levels are low, Prolactin when last tested was moderately high. Been on risperdal consta since 2009.
