Rexulti kicks arse!

Yeah it’s been working great for me so far!
I was on 2mg for a few weeks but i had insomnia, which cleared itself up once i got used to the new medication. No voices but id hear instruments in my head when it was time for bed
Ive been on 3mg for less than a week but it’s been working the same as 2mg and it’s cleared up the paranoia and playing instruments

Glad you are doing well on this med.
Do you take it at night or in the am?
I’ve been taking it when I wake up.

Very cool to talk to someone on this med.
It’s so new I can’t find much info online.

I haven’t found much on it either, so im glad my experience so far is helping someone
I take it in the evening, about 4 hours before i go to bed. It depends if it makes you sleepy or not whether you take it at night or day, but i take it at night becasue ive been used to taking my old risperidone tablet at night

.5mg made me tired, but once I hit 1mg it gave me some energy.
Then the antidepressant effect kicked in which was awesome and unexpected.
So far so good.

Have you lost or gained any weight while on it?

I take 1.5 mg right now as my doctor is slowly tapering seroquel xr off and slowly raising rexulti. I am currently on 150 mg of the seroquel. I can’t wait to be off it. My doc is being very slow with the taper to avoid any episodes. The rexulti is starting to help a little. No akathisia problems with it yet like the abilify. I think she also told me that slowly increasing the rexulti is better to minimize askathisia developing. Doing good so far.

It’s good to go slow.
I went from 1mg to 2mg and it wiped me out for a couple weeks.
I don’t know how rexulti acts on you, but it’s very sedating for me.
It’s a great med though, best AP I’ve been on by far.
I think I am good at 2mg as it is keeping my symptoms under control.
Best of luck to you, hope rexulti works as good for you as it has for me.

how is it going with Rexulti?

Have been on Rexulti for nearly three months after having been on abilify for six years. I am liking it much better than abilify with no noticeable side effects.

I have not managed to lose any Abilify weight with the change so far, but will persevere.

can the weight be controlled by counting calories?

I have recently started meal replacement diet shakes to reduce calories so will see how that goes. I am hoping to lose just a few kilos first to give me the confidence to get outside and exercise,
