I know I am a user on this site as an adult at least over 18. Are there minors using this site as well? Personally i feel being used and loose interest in this site. Cheerio

We have users as young as 14 on this site, which is one reason we ask that everyone keep their discussions appropriate for all ages.
I think you should point it out that this site is PG rated.
Is it possible for us to separate? I think it’s worth it.
It’s in the forum rules. If you don’t feel like you can remain appropriate on this site, then it isn’t the site for you. We don’t have the funds to create a separate adults only forum.

You don’t understand. Every subsection increases the monthly fee to use discourse software. We don’t have the funds to create lots of subsections and increase our monthly subscription.

Besides which, there is no way to stop a child from lying about their age to enter an adults only forum, where they would be exposed to inappropriate things.
You can use advertisements to fund an adult forum.
But why do we need an adult forum, though?
The only thing that separates adult forums from PG friendly forums are talks about sex, drugs, violence and cusswords.
And while I do think the profanity filter should be optional, we don’t really need the other things.
This is a forum to talk about our schizophrenia, not our sexual endeavours.

We use advertisements to fund the current forum. But there isn’t enough traffic on this site to even cover all the costs of running it as it is. Besides which, the administrators feel very strongly about only advertising things they believe would be beneficial to the members here.
I am rooting for @Pikasaur why do we even need a forum for adult and kids … remember we all need antipsychotic. . Holymoly…!!!

People are still free to discuss things like sexual dysfunction, relationships, addiction struggles, and such, as long as they do so in a recovery-oriented and non-explicit manner.
No this site is not for me. I got issues which need a education like life experience which you can’t obtain reading books. Thanks
I was pretty free with the compliments with some young females on this site, but I’m sure the females were over eighteen, and there was nothing sexual about the compliments. I can’t help but wonder if I didn’t lay it on too thick, though. I can see how an older man showering a young woman with compliments could verge on being inappropriate.
Whether a comment is inappropriate or not generally comes down to whether the recipient felt uncomfortable about it. When in doubt, it’s better to err on the side of caution and just say nothing. That said, I don’t recall a time when a compliment you gave was ever flagged, so I don’t believe you upset anyone.

I’m sorry you feel that way, @anon84157300, but I understand. Not everyone is comfortable discussing their problems in front of minors. According to the forum rules, anyone over age 13 is welcome to make an account here, so anyone who posts has to be aware that teenagers may be part of the discussion. In addition, this is an entirely public site, and anyone can read these posts at any age, whether they have an account or not. People have been diagnosed with schizophrenia as young as 8 years old, so we feel it is important for young people to have this as a resource. I developed schizophrenia at age 14, and would have found this place incredibly useful if I had known about it.
No wonder I got so heavily restricted. Anyway I think about it.
