The intellectual atmosphere made it the happiest years of my life. I never want to put down people who pursue education.
I was just telling @anon53412708 he should go to school. It is worth it.
Even tho I’ve essentially done nothing job-wise with my master’s degree, the graduate school experience was utterly wonderful. I loved debates, doing research, and writing papers. I wish I could’ve gone to school indefinitely.
I loved college…think about it all the time…made some good friends that I still have two decades later.
My last few classes I really had to force myself to do the work. For the last several years I was only taking one class per quarter but for 2 1/2 months for each class my life revolved around due dates and readings. There was no rest, there was always a paper or an assignment due and my very last class we had to do zoom meetings with our classmates. I was so relieved when school ended and I graduated. One of the first questions I was asked by people after I graduated was whether I was going to keep going and get my bachelors. No way would I do that, I’m not going to subject myself to all the effort it takes to even complete one more class let alone 10 or 15 classes more.
Your stress is greater than your interest at this point. I’m sorry for that and I hope it changes. If it isn’t a burning desire to learn, it is all a chore.
