Remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting

I found i had written it on an old drawing. Turns out it was from the film “waking life”. A film that is a topic unto itself, but i was a wondering, what do you make of “remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting”?

Remembering good times isn’t a bad thing.

That’s very interesting. Seniors spend a lot of time remembering stuff. I suppose it would be stronger to stay involved more but it’s just one of the frailties of getting old.

I ruminate on the past alot, mostly negative events. I tend to dwell on the negative. There was one person who I was obsessed with for years that I invented all these positive memories about, when really, I barely knew him. I need to stay highly medicated not to think about him.

yeah, I need to get to the root of this

I have to say, the biggest assholes I’ve ever delt with in life always have the worst memories- makes perfect sense.
