I am a member of Recovery International. We meet in Zoom groups on the Internet. It was founded by Abraham Low in the 30’s in Chicago. It was about the time of the founding of AA too. Recovery is a self help group. recoveryinternational.orgCBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

I used to go to the Recovery International group in Dublin Ireland. It’s a good group and I still use the spotting techniques they teach.

I went there, and they asked me for money.

Yes, it’s usual at the Recovery meetings to ask for a non obligituary nominal donation. They pride themselves on being an independent organisation free from influence by other organisations so they suggest 5 euro or so per meeting to keep the system running. I’ve seen people come regularly who couldn’t afford to give any donation at all and they were treated just the same as everyone else. It’s all above board and there’s never any pressure on anyone at all unless they’re being excessively disruptive due to their illness.

They put pressure on me. They got all into my finances and came up with a figure they thought I should pay.

Wow. Where was that, in the US? I’m in Ireland.

I seriously doubt that “they” would do such a thing. Recovery International is in the business of managing symptoms, not stealing money!

Hey, can anybody help me with free online counselling. I have been taking medications for about 4 years. And have no idea how to cure this disease. I really want to live free of medication. Tried to stop the medication but the symptoms came back again. Now after continuing with the medication I am leading a normal life.

Welcome, there is no cure but your symptoms are much better as long as you take meds.
Some people spontaneously recover.

Sz is a serious, life threatening disease. You will live a lot longer if you take it seriously and treat it with the respect it deserves.
