Just curious if anyone else ever tried Recovery Inc. meetings:

I attended them for about 10 years and found them fairly helpful. I met quite a few other people that had sz plus other mental illnesses. I thought the structured meetings were good at analyzing specific events.
The books sometimes seem to be a “tough love” approach to the illness and I think a lot of people are put off by the sometimes unsympathetic attitudes and arcane writing style of the founder Dr. Low:
Here is a PDF of the book:

The four part examples used in the meetings are good in the sense that they encourage people to give themselves positive reinforcement and self credit for what they did right in a specific situation.
Some people would attend both Alcoholics Anonymous/N.A. meetings and Recovery. Occasionally some people were so ill that they couldn’t even tell what was going on at the meetings. Usually newcomers don’t catch on right away to the somewhat goofy sounding slogans or “spots” that are used at the meetings.
